Postproduction

Okay guys, so we haven't talked in a longgg time. It almost feels like months. So last time we talked, I was talking about how I was almost done with my filming and editing. Well guess whattt?? I actuall finished but this is the night before the project is due.. if you didn't know. I finished filming and editing after i was second guessing myself and didn't really like how the first project came out. So yea, I made another project and began editing and putting things where it need to be THE DAY BEFORE THE PROJECT WAS DUE!!! And the good thing is.. that I completed it all by myself and eventually shared it with my other partner who loved it by the way. Anyways, I'm coming on here to do the last stage of the blog posts because I wasn't actually done. Anyways I used Wevideos to edit my videos and place them in the correct order and I also used a background remover app which not only removed the unnessecary background from my clips but allowed me to add a background of...

Reflection..

Soooo... we made it... almost done!!! So we've started filming already and sadly.. we're still editing. In the beginining of the film, you can definitley tell that it's an opening by the black screen in the beginning and the words.. "Presented to you... "The Mission". Then an Approaching shot leading up ton the front of the house which is where my video is taking place in the beginning. You can probably tell my movie is going to be a funny and adventerous film because of the music in the background. For my movie I think I could do a little more with better recording and the sound. And I definitely think that I need to reshoot some parts of my movie but overall I think it was good for my first movie. I used some but not a lot of transitions and the were the dip to black kind of ones. I also need to add upbeat and rock and roll type music.

Production / Filming Schedule

Alright.. now that I have the plot, storyboard, and script now we have to talk about the film schedule. So since the project is due in less than a month (march 12), I need to start thinking about when and where I am going to film this movie. And I also have to figure out what I am going to do about the cast because I feel as if I am doing this project alone. My group members barely contribute on this project and I feel like I am doing everything by myself. But that is besides the point. Lets get back into what I was originaly talking about. I am thinking that I start filming and recording maybe the beginning of March or end of February. But then again, that depend on my group members because I can probably do some assign, ents by myslef but filming and recording a movie is not a walk at the park.... meaning thats it is not that easy to do by yourself for those wondering. If I start in the beginning of march I would do something each day whether it is actually recording or other thi...

Sound

Since my movie genre is Action, there would definitely be sound effects and cool lighting. Im thinking later in the movie Mighty Mike and Fire Frank get into a fight with the bad guy which i dont have a name for yet. Maybeee.... High Hank or Rainy Rich or maybe.. well idk but for now maybe Rainy Rich. Most fights that are in movies have sound effects. Like punching sounds and slapping sounds and you know the sound effects that the actual characters make. So yes my movie's going to have lots of sound effects and maybe even more when I figure out what happens later on in the movie.

Casting Considerations and Choices

Okay let's be real.. if you were shooting a movie, you would want the most known celeberties to be in it. But sometimes that's not always possible. If I can pick any celebrity to be in my movie it would definitley be Micheal B Jordan as Mighty Mighy and maybe Adam Sandler as Fire Frank. And im not really sure who would actually be Bill (The boss). But in reality I have Keiron as Mighty Mike and Isaiah as Fire Frank but if I would have to be in the movie, I would have to change Bill's character to a female so I can be her and be able to be in the movie. I would love for more of my friends to be in the movie to make it more fun and entertaining since my movie is an action movie and action movies are supposed to look fun and entertaining and make it want veiwers to want more parts to my movie. Hopefully my movie would look very entertaining and my cast choices would make it interesting to watch.

Location and Scouting Process Desicions

Heyy im back.. last time I blogged I left off on the preproduction. This week we are going to talk about the location and scouting process and decisions. So basically where I want my movie to be filmed and recored at. For my movie I was thinking that it can be filmed in Calfornia like most popular movies. But where I really would like my movie to be fimed at is in a living room at night. My scene starts off with Mike (Mighty Mike) having a new years eve party with his family and friends and he gets an unexpected call form his boss. While Bill (The manager) is calling Mike, he is in a hallway of an office. Then they all meet up in an empty parking lot... perferably on the top of a parking garage. Then mike and frank (Fire Frank) go on to try to complete the mission or task before new years day (12 o'clock).

preproduction

Image
Okay wecome back.. long time no speak or blog... whatever.. so the last time I blogged was Jnuary 29 and I was talking about a Case study of the movie Extraction.. which is similar to mine. Todsay were going to be talking about the preproduction. Im thinking the first scene of my movie will be at Mighty Mike's house specifically in his living room then in a car parking lot when they meet Bill. The state that would be best to shoot in is California because most movies are filmed there and the background looks great.     If i can pick anyone to star in my movie it would be  MIcheal B jordan as Mighty Mike and not just because of his name but because i think actually i know that he would be a great superhero. not really sure who i would pick for Fire Frank or Bill as of yet. I believe that my film would look great by using different camera shots. I would also use an audio recording system to record any sounds during my production. My storyboard looks like a great ...

Case study ~ Extraction

Most action movies have the typical super heros and fighting. The point in all action movies is just to kill and to battle and other stuff like that. A movie I found similar to mines is "Extraction". Extraction is an Action/Thriller film written and directed by Sam Hargrave, Ande Parks, Joe Russo, and Anthony Russo. The goal throughout the film is to make the audience eager to watch more. This is also my goal for my movie, to make the audience want to watch my movie. The film was produced by Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwern. The budget for this movie was 65 million USD. Full financial estimates for this film, including domestic and international box office, video sales, video rentals, TV and ancillary revenue are not available online. Extraction was shot by cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel, ASC, on two main cameras that are similar (RED Monstro 8K and Panavision DXL2). The film was released April 24, 2020 on netflix f...

What I want to do

Okay so what am I trying to acheive in my movie..? Okay soo, my message to all the viewers is that you have to keep working harder and harder to complete your goal even if it takes you a couple tries. A film that is similar to mines is Black panther. I believe that it is similar to mines because it portrays a strong black superhero that is hardworking and a leader. Some production companies that specialize in films similar to mine are Universal, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Boys. I think Universal would be the best fit for me and my movie because Universal has a reputation that has proven to be unparrelled back in the the Hollywood's Golden age (20s through 60s) and they are continuing to show that they are a leading force amongst enertainment.  I plan to produce with a large studio to have as much help as i can get to make my movie better than any other action movie. If I use Universal as my production company I feel as if my movie with have a lot of viewers and become pop...

The script

Image
Okayyy, welcome back. This time we are going to discuss the script and how everything is going to work. So the film is called "The last kill". There will be a superhero who's job is to complete a task iin a certain time frame in order to level up. If failed the super hero will have to work harder and harder to complete it. I'm not sure what the superhero's name should be. I picture him as a strong black superhero that is hardworking and caring and works good with other people or superheros. In the beginning of the ilm the superhero will be out of his uniform and dressed regulary until he gets a call that he needs to come into work to do the task that he is trying to complete in the movie. I plan on having other superheros in the movie who try to compete with the main superhero (again we dont know his name yet). Alright thats enough for today but heres what i think he would look like...    But of course not exactly like that because thats already a superhero. BYEE...

Changes

Sooo guys, If you didnt read my previous blogs you wouldn't have known that I used to have a group.. Naheilah and Ashley. Well I got switched out of my first period soo I didnt have a group for probably a week or two. But recently I got put into a new group.. YAY. So my new group members are Isaiah and Keiron. When I first got put in their group I found out that their genre choice was Action. Also if you did read my last blogs you would have knew that my choice was genre because I felt that it was the easiest. So we decided that we were just going to put the two genres together but after a while we thought about it and just decided on doing action and i'm okay with that. The key to working in a group is to get along and learn to compromise and I really didn't want to do this whole project BY MYSELF. So now this blog post is about the changes that were made with the project. Stay tuned for the rest of the information guys... BYEEE

Okay..the plot

Sooo.. most horror movies all have really cool names.. so what about mines??  Heres some options.. 1. The sleepover 2. Where has all the kids gone 3. The girl For my movie title i'm trying to not go for the usual "haunted house" or something with "monster" in it. I've decided that I wanted a title that no one would ever think of. Let's go through the options again. "The sleepover".. For that title I was thinking like a group of friends that go have fun but something happens unexpectedly. Too boring.. "Where has all the kids gone".. Sounds like something true and very scary.. Like scary too the point where no one can ever finish the movie.. Not what im going for. And lastly "The girl".. Good title.. but its almost too predictable about what actually going to happen in the movie. You know like that weird girl that turns evil and goes after every one. Nah.. Okay maybe were going to need to look for some more titles.  Second op...

Research on Genre

So for my genre I chose Horror. Some of the basic conventions os horror is to make the film original and unpredictable. Different aspects of media texts are made to set the horror genre are narrative, character, setting, props, color, costume, lighting, and sound. Most films with my genre usually start off dark with mysterious music in the background. The bacjground music shows that the film is supposed to be scary but also not giving to much info. Usually in the first 2 minutes start of subtle. Horror films are often shot in a haunted house with a group of kids most likely at night time. The audience i am trying to appeal to are teens usually because young adults and teenagers enjoy a lot of thrill and exitement. Age groups like adults and older people would not want to watch. The title of horror films are mostly big and bold with blood or anything else that can seem scary on it. In movies with that genre, there are varieties of different social groups that are portrayed. Some are the...

Welcome

This is where the production is going to begin. It may take a while to actually produce but lets get into it. This is going to be a great journey... Meanwhile this is what questions are going on inside my head.."What type of movie I want to make? How do i want to display it?" Those are two great questions with very simple answers but how do I come up with just one idea? So I looked up different genre types.. The ones that really caught my eye were Mystery, Horror, and Comedy. After a while I narrowed the list down to just Horror and I believe that that's a topic that I would really enjoy since I will be doing this project for so long. *Sigh* Anyways... this is where I leave off and also welcome you to my crazy project journey. Stay tuned for more.... Peace.

Opening credits

What is the real purpose of an opening credit?? Opening credits show you the most important members in the movie and other information about them. They persuade you to continue watching the movie and to not change it. Most of time when its a actor that you are fimiliar with and like, you'll see their name and continue watching. Opening credits draw the audience in and kind of help you see what the main idea of the movie is going to be or what its going be like. A perfect example is Sound, sound can help you tell if its going to be scary by using mysterious, dark music, romantic by using slow, jazz-like music or a comedy but using up beat pop music.

Intro

I have a feeling that this project is going to be a bit crazy but if i actually take it as serious as it is, i would get a grade that i am proud of. Staytuned because they are going to be many amazing blog entries on what me and the rest of my group is doing. Even though it is alot of work i feel like it would be something you should continue reading and being active with. Im not sure what me and my group members are using as our main topic but, see ya later!!
